WITB 2025

I'll admit, I'm notorious for switching up my gear. My wife can not only attest to this, she can probably give you a long list of times she has nearly killed me when a package showed up on our doorstep with a much different shape to our usual Amazon deliveries. What can I say, I'm a gear junkie? I'd get bored if I didn't switch it up every now and then!

With that being said, I think I've got a winning combination with my bag this year that will, hopefully, stand the test of time (as soon as I add a fairway wood or another hybrid, but that's another terrifying discussion to have with my wife another day). And by time, I mean at least six months. I know my wife is certainly praying that's the case.

By the way, I realize that I only carry 11 clubs. That's not a mistake, that's just how I've tailored my bag for the courses I play. I hadn't hit my 3-wood in probably 5 years, so I got rid of it. I tended to grab my 56 degree instead of my 60, so I got rid of the 60. It's just how I decided to play, and I haven't noticed a gap in my bag yet, so I'm gonna roll with it for now. So let's take a look at what I'm gaming for 2025:

Driver: Taylormade STEALTH+, 8 degree head set to 10 degrees, Neutral weight position. Project X HZRDUS Smoke shaft, 6.0 (stiff), 70g. I have it cut to 43.25" because I'm a short king.

I absolutely love this driver. Probably my favorite I've ever had. The ball explodes off the face and just seems to go forever before it comes down. The adjustability is a huge win for me, too.

Hybrid: PXG 0317X Proto, 22 degrees. Accra iSERIES - 70i stiff shaft. I cut 1" off of it because, again, I'm short.

Great hybrid, I've had it in the bag for a couple of years now. I love the look at address and I just hit it well. What more can you ask for in a hybrid?

Irons: PXG 0317 CB (5-W), True Temper Dynamic Gold S300 shafts, 115g.

These irons are buttery smooth, and the black finish is killer. I've wanted PXG irons for as long as I can remember, and between begging my wife for Father's Day and my military discount I was able to convince her that this year was the year!

Wedges: Cobra Snakebite (50, 56), KBS HI-REV 2.0 stiff shafts, 125g. Both have "versatile" grinds.

I've always loved Cobra clubs, and I grabbed these on sale a couple of years ago. The 56 has the full face grooves, which is handy with as many mishits as I pepper it with, and the black finish is, again, a killer look.

Putter: Scotty Cameron Studio Style Fastback 1.5. Superstroke Tour 2.0 grip, 34".

This is the most beautiful putter I've ever owned, and I literally feel like I can't miss with it. Love the look of it at address, and the ball is so crisp off the face it almost makes me cry. It will be in my bag for decades, I promise you.

Ball: Titleist ProV1x, Bridgestone Tour B X, Vice Pro Plus.

Because I'm just a regular guy who buys his own balls (and always will), I play a few different balls. I usually stick with the three above, though. I like them the best, and I tend to keep them all in play off the tee really well. For me, keeping it in play off the tee is the key to my whole game. If I can drive it in play (preferably the fairway, but can't get too greedy), I can really shoot good scores.
