 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!

2 Corinthians 5.17 (NIV)

I love this verse because it communicates an important truth to Christians. We aren't just "cleaned up" versions of ourselves who are progressively and slowly trying to do better. We are new creations, completely transformed from the inside and made righteous. We were dead, but Christ has brought us to life. What a wonderful truth!
